A product is rarely one thing. Factora keeps what every version shares on the product, and what tells each version apart on the variant — so stock and jobs point at the exact item, not a free-text note.
What it does
Product management in Factora
A clean product catalogue
Each product carries its code, category and unit of measure, and groups every version of itself underneath, so the catalogue reads the way the factory thinks about it.
Variants by any attribute
Split a product by size, by finish, or by any attribute you define. A 12-inch handle in matt black is its own variant with its own code, separate from the 18-inch or the gold.
No duplicate variants
Each combination of attributes can exist only once per product, so the same variant cannot be entered twice under two names and split your stock between them.
MRP and minimum stock per variant
Set the list price and the minimum stock level on each variant, because a slow-moving finish and your best seller should never share a reorder point.
Connected records
How it works with the rest of Factora
Because job cards and stock reference the variant itself, a product catalogue in Factora is not a list kept for reference. Choose a variant on a job card and the finished pieces land against that exact variant; its minimum stock level decides when it shows as low.

Common questions
What is a product variant?
A variant is one specific version of a product — for example the same handle in a different size or finish. Factora stores each as its own record with its own code, price and stock, grouped under the product it belongs to.
Can I define my own attributes, not just size and finish?
Yes. Size and finish are built in, and you can add any other attribute your products vary on.
Can each variant have its own price and minimum stock?
Yes. Every variant carries its own MRP and its own minimum stock level, which decides when that variant is flagged as low.
